In short: Oganiz collects only what it needs to run your household's shared planner. We do not sell personal information. Calendar import is optional and read-only. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
Oganiz (ABN 90 729 546 407), trading as Oganiz ("Oganiz", "we", "us"), operates the Oganiz app and this website. This statement explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. What we collect
What we hold depends on how you use Oganiz.
Account information
- Your name and email address, and a password if you sign up with email.
- If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, the basic details that provider shares with us, such as your name and email address. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
Household information
- The household you create and the family members added to it: names, optional photos, and the colour or avatar used to identify each person.
- Which member each plan, chore or task is assigned to.
Content you add
- Events, appointments, invitations, and their dates, times, locations and notes.
- Checklists, meals, recipes, shopping lists, chores and rewards.
- Photos of paper invitations, if you use the photo option. These are kept temporarily so you can review and enter the details, as explained in the app.
Optional device calendar import
If you choose to import from your phone's calendar, Oganiz asks for read-only access. We show you the events and you confirm which ones to bring in. Events you do not confirm are not saved to your household. You can turn this permission off in your phone's settings at any time.
Sign-in with Face ID or fingerprint
If you use biometric sign-in, your phone's operating system performs the check. Oganiz does not receive, see or store your face or fingerprint data.

- Basic device and app information (for example app version, device model and operating system) and error reports, used to keep Oganiz working and secure.
- If you turn on reminders, a notification token so your phone can receive them.
We do not ask for sensitive information such as health records. Please avoid putting sensitive details in event titles or notes (for example, the reason for an appointment). Anything you type is stored as you entered it.
3. How we use it
- To provide Oganiz: showing your household's plans, assigning tasks, sending reminders you have turned on, and syncing across household members' devices.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
- To improve Oganiz, using error reports and general usage information.
- To reply to you when you contact us, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to show you third-party advertising.
4. Who sees it
Inside your household
Oganiz is a shared app. Plans, chores, meals and lists in a household are visible to the members of that household. Plans marked for a specific person are still part of the shared household space, so please add only people you are comfortable sharing with.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Oganiz, such as cloud hosting and data storage, sign-in providers (Google and Apple, if you choose them), and error reporting. They may handle information only to provide their service to us, and we expect them to protect it.
Other disclosures
We may disclose information if required or authorised by law, to protect safety, or with your consent. If our business is sold or restructured, personal information may transfer to the new owner, who must continue to protect it.
5. Where it is stored
Oganiz information is stored with cloud providers in data centres in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. Some providers or their support teams may access information from other countries. Where information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs (APP 8).
6. Children
Oganiz is designed to be set up and managed by adults. An adult household organiser can add family members, including children, so that plans and chores can be shared. We collect only what is needed to do this, such as a first name and an optional photo.
We do not knowingly let children create their own accounts. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will deal with it promptly. Parents and guardians can ask us to see, correct or delete a child's information held in their household. We keep our practices under review as Australian rules for children's online privacy develop, including the Children's Online Privacy Code being developed by the OAIC.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections, access controls and secure cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure. If an eligible data breach happens, we will follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme and tell affected people and the OAIC where required.
8. Keeping and deleting information
We retain your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Oganiz, maintain security, meet our legal obligations, and manage your account and subscription.
Account deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal information through the Oganiz app or by contacting us.
When you request account deletion, we disable access to your account and remove or de-identify personal information that is no longer required. We aim to complete this process within 30 days of verifying your request, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
Backups
We maintain secure backups to protect against accidental data loss and system failures. Our standard production backup retention period is 30 days. Backups are automatically expired according to this schedule.
If information is restored from a backup, we take steps to ensure previously completed deletion requests remain effective.
Subscriptions and financial records
If you have a paid subscription, we may retain limited transaction records, payment references, invoices and refund information for accounting, taxation, fraud prevention and other legal obligations.
Certain financial records may need to be retained for five years or longer, depending on applicable law. We do not retain your household planning information solely for financial recordkeeping purposes.
Shared household information
If your household includes multiple members, deleting your account removes your personal account information. Shared household information may remain accessible to other authorised household members where necessary for their continued use of Oganiz.
Deleting an entire household initiates deletion of its associated information, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
Invitation photos
Invitation images may be captured or selected to help you review and enter invitation details. Automatic extraction is not currently enabled. In the current version, captured images are handled temporarily for review and are not retained as part of the saved invitation.
Legal exceptions
We may retain limited information for longer where required or permitted by applicable law, including compliance with legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and protecting the security of our services.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12);
- correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete (APP 13);
- delete your information, subject to legal requirements; and
- stop sending you marketing messages. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe option.
We will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing. People outside Australia may have additional rights under local law; contact us and we will help.
